Empowering Futures Through Education
Scholarship Program Launch
In 2018, we proudly introduced our inaugural scholarship program as a C. Corporation. Unfortunately, the loss of two board members required us to delay our efforts until new members were appointed. Following this, we navigated the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, which affected many organizations. Now, as of June 4th, 2024, we have transitioned to a non-profit status, allowing us to better support emancipated foster care survivors in achieving their educational goals.

Health and Wellness Fair
Our upcoming Health and Wellness Fair aims to provide complimentary medical and dental services for foster care alumni and their families, especially those enrolled in our post-secondary education initiatives in collaboration with local colleges and vocational training centers, available both online and in-person.

Tune in to the previous podcast featuring her book from 2023: 100 Facebook Friends. Since that time, she has released "Me, Myself, and AI" (Conversations with Artificial Intelligence) and 100 Acts of Kindness (QR Codes).
*My lifelong aspiration has been to support foster care, and with each book sold, this vision is becoming a reality. I hope others are inspired to join me, whether through this non-profit or another cause that resonates with their personal experiences.
Together, we can create a brighter future for everyone. Each contribution empowers us to expand our reach, ensuring that more foster care survivors have access to the resources they need for a successful educational journey.
We believe in the transformative power of education, and with the ongoing support from our community, we can continue to foster hope and opportunity for those who need it most. Join us in making a meaningful difference.
Prospective Site Under Consideration for Acquisition or Lease
Potential New Site Under Review
https://www.lakephalenplace.com
We are exploring the acquisition of an apartment complex to provide housing for our inaugural group of students during their college journey in the Twin Cities of Minnesota. While this site is strategically located, we remain open to exploring additional opportunities.
As a newly established organization, our resources are currently limited until our fundraising initiatives surpass our targets to uplift and empower these overlooked students.
We are committed to creating a supportive environment where students can thrive academically and personally, ensuring they have access to essential resources and a community that fosters growth and resilience.
What if I've been adopted? Am I still eligible to apply?
Our organization is dedicated to supporting individuals who have aged out of the foster care system, as they often find themselves without a reliable support system. This issue impacts around 24,000 students each year.
We are also open to assisting those who were adopted from the foster care system. *Please keep in mind, preference will be given to foster care survivors who were not adopted, as it is expected that adoptive families should provide educational support.
Nonetheless, we recognize that life circumstances can be challenging. We encourage you to submit the same application along with a detailed explanation of your situation. If no other applicants are accepted, and we have the capacity and funds available, your application will be considered.
Please be aware that if it is discovered you come from a financially stable family, and if it appears that there has been any deception to secure aid that could have gone to someone in greater need, you may be required to repay the funds allocated to the student who was denied assistance based on your application.
We urge you to apply only if you genuinely require help. Since you have been given a family, our priority is to assist those who have not.
Thank you for understanding our selection process, which prioritizes the greatest need along with the likelihood of successful follow-through.
